hematuria&proteinuria


a 5 years old children came to the hospital.Urinalysis was done due to his symptoms.

1.Describe the facial appearance of the children

swelling eyes and face

2.The urinalysis shows positive on protein and blood.What is possible diagnosis?

3.List 2 possible signs expected during examination

4.State 3 further investigation to comfirm the diagnosis

NEPHRITIC SYNDROME/ACUTE GLOMERULONEPHRITIS

3.List 2 possible signs expected during examination

i)pallor

no idea on this since most GN pts have more symptoms than sign.
ii)back pain

iii)hypertensive
iv) assc. w/ sore throat/pharyngitis(strep ifx)
v)brown-red colored urine(hematuria)

4.State 3 further investigation to comfirm the diagnosis


i)Renal Fx Test-impaired
ii)Antitreptolysin titre(increase)
iii)BUSE - will show uremia
iv)Urine FEME-Hematuria
v)Urine dipstick-proteinuria

clinical course of acute GN:
-malaise
-low grade fever
-nausea
-nephritic syndrome:
-haematuria
-oliguria and azotemia
-hypertension
