reverse colles is also known as Smith fracture.. beza de cume anterior displacement.. bnde ni common kat budak2 (lam PBL ade kn..) =)
definition of colles fracture from keith moore's: complete transverse fracture of distal 02cm of radius.
>>>normally radial styloid process projects farther distally than ulnar styloid process>>>colles fracture>>>the relationship reversed(shortening of radius)>>>dinner/silver fork deformity.
distal frangment displaced dorsally.(in smith fracture; ventrally).
often ulnar styloid process broken off also.
bony reunion usually gud due to rich blood supply to distal end of radius.
yup, colles(dorsiflex)commoner than smith (dorsiextend).
thanx to anonymous and jade..
